This is How Muhammad Al-Fatih and Saladin Al-Ayubi were Born

This article is to refresh our knowledge, at the same time inspire our awareness, as we commemorate the Liberation of Constantinople, as a step back to the second bisyarah, that there must be awareness to regenerate the generation of Muhammad al-Fatih and Saladin al-Ayyubi.

Heroes are made, not born. There are great people who made them.

That is the fact behind great figures, such as Muhammad al-Fatih (Mehmet II) and Shalahuddin al-Ayyubi (Saladin)

This article is to refresh our knowledge, at the same time inspire our awareness, as we commemorate the Liberation of Constantinople, as a step back to the second bisyarah, that there must be awareness to regenerate the generation of Muhammad al-Fatih and Saladin al-Ayyubi.

As Muhammad al-Fatih and Saladin got victory and help, Muhammad al-Fatih even succeeded in realizing the Prophet's benediction 800 years long, as well as ordaining himself as the recipient of the bisyarah, all of that requires preparation.

In short, the generation of Saladin al-Ayyubi and Muhammad al-Fatih was made and formed, not born by themselves.

The question is, how to rebirth a generation like them?

Building Discipline Early

Allah tells human character,

"Inna al-Insana khuliqa halu’an, idza massahu as-syarru jazu’a"
[Indeed, mankind was created anxious. When evil touches him, impatient,] [Q.s. al-Ma'arij: 19-20]

That is human nature. Relax, lazy, and do not want to be difficult. Characters like this if left unchecked, and not formed early, until old age will remain like that.

Al-‘Allamah al-Qadhi Syaikh Taqiyuddin an-Nabhani explained, that the sincerity [jiddiyah] must be formed.

Seriousness is directly proportional, between plan and realization, between ideals and reality.

When we have goals or plans, but the reality and the realization do not exist, then that is not a form of seriousness. Therefore, sincerity must be formed.

From this, we understand, why did Zubair finally become a great hero, so called Hawariyyun an-Nabi, who was able to defend the Prophet until the last drop of blood.

Because of her mother's strict discipline and discipline since childhood. The same thing was done by Zubair to Abdullah, his son with Asma ', from an early age, when he was 8 years old he was invited to jihad in the cause of Allah.

When there is a Muslim, even less a da'wah activists, adopting the concept of Western psychology, with the concept of liberal, then the children are allowed to grow with their freedom, what happens is, when growing up their children are difficult to manage.

Undisciplined. Good thing if he can still be saved.

How is that possible?

Because they do not have the correct concept of sincerity [jiddiyah], and how to form sincerity into their children.

Worse yet, he took the Western concept, which clearly contradicted his view of life.

So, just like rice has become porridge. Time flies. Regret always comes too late.

Read : biography of Ibn ‘Abbas, Imam Shafi'i, Imam an-Nawawi, to al-Hafidz Ibn al-Jauzi.

They are scholars' who were formed from an early age. Early age they spend not to play. They use it to learn and study. Likewise with Saladin and Muhammad al-Fatih.

The generation of Shalahuddin al-Ayyubi (Saladin) and Muhammad al-Fatih was made and formed, not born by themselvesssria

Discipline is obedience to rules or laws. This obedience is born of faith, for adults. But, for children who aren't thinking yet, obedience is born from habit.

So, children who are not accustomed to the commands and prohibitions, children like this will not understand discipline.

That is, why the Prophet instructed, so that children must have been told to pray salah at the age of 7 years. Smack (lightly) when he was 10 years old.

The Ulama 'and the Kuttab

In the time of the Khilafah, young children were educated in Kuttab. Here they learn to read, memorize and understand the Qur'an, including the Prophet's hadith.

If we go to Egypt, Kuttab where Saladin al-Ayyubi was educated still exists. The place is next to the grave of his father, Najmudin Ayyub.

I also found out after Shaykh al-Azhar explained Kuttab in their tradition. At the Kuttab, the Shaykhs brought rattan, one cubit long. Children who are not disciplined in learning, will be smack with the rattan.

In Kuttab, the Shaykhs carry rattan that is 1 cubit long
Figure 2. In Kuttab, the Shaykhs carry rattan that is 1 cubit long

This is like the story of Muhammad al-Fatih who was beaten by his teacher with a rattan, when he was reluctant to follow the orders of his Shaykh. That's the story of Kuttab, the ulama' and the students who were educated in this Kuttab.

There are no easy words in learning.

On the contrary, learning is bitter, Imam Syafii said. Therefore, guidance from the scholars is needed '. In their hands, a great generation such as Muhammad al-Fatih and Saladin was born.

Saladin's generation was born from Madrasah Shaykh ‘Abdul Qadir al-Jilani. The scholar of jurisprudence, the Hanbali school, the zuhud, wara, and his attitude towards the rulers of his time was extraordinary.

The Shaykh ‘Abdul Qadir Madrasa actually continues the Madrasah al-Ghazali, who was born as an Islamic reformer, every 100 years.

With the book of Ihya 'Ulumiddin, he has succeeded in reconstructing the image of Islam, which has been torn apart by various deviant practices.

Yes, the ulama 'who possessed thaqafah, with their extraordinary vision and awareness, succeeded in repelling the Islamic civilization, clearing various deviations, and made the best generation to lead change.

That is Madrasah al-Ghazali and Shaykh ‘Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, who have succeeded in giving birth to the generation of Saladin al-Ayyubi.

The same thing happened to the generation of Muhammad al-Fatih, who was born by a great ulama' at the time.

He is Shaykh ‘Aq Syamssudin and al-Qurani. These two scholars' formed the thaqafah, person, character and leadership of Muhammad al-Fatih, so that he succeeded in realizing the Prophet's benediction which was more than 800 years old.

The great combination of science, personality, obedience, awareness and political vision. Be born, from the hands of great scholars who are also great generations.

Three Unbeatable Power

Humans have tremendous potential. They have physical (material) strength, such as physical and weapons, as well as non-physical (ma'nawi) strength, such as emotion, being offended, angry and love.

But, even more awesome is being a Muslim. Apart from these two powers, a Muslim has spiritual power (ruhiyah), which is infinite.

If a Muslim is able to combine his three power, with perfect political awareness, then Muslims will be the best, and unbeatable throughout history.

That is the history carved by Saladin al-Ayyubi, and Muhammad al-Fatih.

History of heroism. History of victory within victory. History that was born from the perseverance, patience and dedication of the scholars', with its halqah, Kuttab and Madrasa.

Therefore, the West is deliberately aiming at the world of education, changing the curriculum, and damaging the orientation of education in the Islamic world. Because they know, from this world of education, the generation of Saladin al-Ayyubi and Muhammad al-Fatih was born.

However, the Islamic world today is different from the past. Muslims are aware, and want to return to their religion. Despite various efforts to block the move continued by the invaders and their accomplices.

But, rest assured, all that will be in vain. When the curriculum of jihad and the Caliphate is removed from school, they can still learn it in mosques, in offices, or in majelis taklim.

When people are competed with differences in fiqh, and mazhab disputes, slowly but surely begin to grow awareness to leave all those differences.

Knitting ukhuwah and unity.

Until finally, really the generation of Saladin al-Ayyubi and Muhammad al-Fatih was reborn.

The people were ready to make the best sacrifice, and leaders of Saladin al-Ayyubi and Muhammad al-Fatih were born in their midst.

At that time, the promised victory would definitely return.

Allah knows best (Wallahu a’lam.)
